This is a planning range, subject to your hotel address, traffic, reservations and pace. The final quote confirms your itinerary and reserved hours.
Set departure around your Palace entry time, with a margin for traffic and security checks.
Visit independently or meet a separately booked guide under the conditions of your chosen ticket.
Choose a short garden walk for a half-day; allow a longer day for lunch and Trianon.
Meet your chauffeur at the agreed collection point after your final visit.
The important decision is how much of the estate to visit. A private driver removes the need to organise the journey from your hotel, but the Palace, gardens and Trianon still require time on foot. For a first visit, concentrate on the Palace and a manageable garden walk. If Marie Antoinette's estate is your main interest, plan a longer day rather than fitting it into the end of a short morning.
The proposed 5–8-hour range covers the outing from Paris, not uninterrupted sightseeing. Your hotel address, traffic, entry reservation and lunch plans determine the final schedule. Mention an evening restaurant or other commitment when requesting your quote so the return can be planned around it.
| Format | Visit focus | Main planning decision |
|---|---|---|
| Palace-focused half-day | Palace rooms and a short garden walk | Reserve the Palace entry before fixing pickup |
| Longer estate day | Palace, lunch and selected Trianon visits | Allow for movement between different parts of the estate |
| Gardens-led visit | Outdoor paths and selected estate areas | Check weather, event access and the walking distance |
A full day is useful when you want time to stop for lunch and explore beyond the main Palace. It should still have priorities: choosing one Trianon visit can leave a more comfortable afternoon than trying to cover every building and garden. A gardens-led visit can replace part of the indoor programme for returning visitors.
Check the Palace's official practical information before choosing the date. The Palace and Trianon normally close on Mondays, while garden access and opening arrangements differ. Fountain and musical-garden events can also affect the ticket you need. Confirm the admission covering your chosen areas, rather than assuming one Palace ticket covers the whole programme.
Hotel pickup and a reserved entry time do not guarantee an immediate entrance. Leave space for security, queues and the meeting point specified on your ticket. If you would like historical interpretation, request a guide as a separate service; chauffeur transport does not itself include a guided Palace tour.
Comfortable shoes matter even on a short visit. Long outdoor walks, gravel paths and standing in busy rooms can be tiring. Tell us whether you prefer a brief garden circuit or need to limit walking. Visitors using a wheelchair should check the estate's access arrangements for each selected area before buying tickets.
For children, a focused Palace visit followed by an outdoor break may work better than several consecutive indoor visits. Give passenger ages when requesting transport and describe any child-seat needs. Agree a clear collection point: finishing in Trianon is different from returning through the main Palace entrance.
Send your travel date, Paris hotel, passenger count, preferred format and guide requirements. The quote should distinguish transport from admission, guiding, meals and any transport hired within the estate. For a journey-only enquiry, see Paris to Versailles private driver service.
Compare Fontainebleau and Vaux-le-Vicomte for a two-château day, or Chantilly for art and equestrian heritage. Our private day trips from Paris page helps you choose the right format.
A Palace-focused outing can be planned in roughly five hours overall, depending on your hotel, traffic and entry time. A full estate visit including lunch and Trianon needs a longer booking. We confirm the programme before quoting.
Chauffeur transport and a Palace guide are separate services. Tell us if you need a guide so the itinerary can accommodate the relevant reservation and meeting point.
Tickets are separate unless your written quote expressly includes them. A timed ticket does not remove security checks or guarantee no waiting; access follows the conditions of the chosen admission.
The visit can focus on fewer estate areas, but there is still walking and standing. Share ages, child-seat requests and access needs before booking, and verify the Palace access arrangements for the selected buildings.
Send your date, Paris hotel and passenger count. Add the stops that matter most, any existing reservations, children’s ages and guide or access needs in the journey notes. We review the schedule and vehicle availability before sending a written proposal.
The hours below are a starting point for your request. Adjust them to your plans; they do not reserve a fixed package. Tickets, tastings, guides, meals and accommodation are separate unless listed in your confirmation.
